Introduction / History

Their language, Nyungwe, defines the Nyungwes. They live near a nature preserve by the same name. Most are in Mozambique though some also live in Zimbabwe.

What Are Their Lives Like?

Most likely, some of them work in the tourist industry, so they have contact with outsiders. They perform traditional dances and take tourists on treks to see panoramic views and to find wildlife like chimpanzees.

What Are Their Beliefs?

Almost all Nyungwes practice ethnic religions, but a sizeable number are Christian and Evangelical.

What Are Their Needs?

The Nyungwes need the spiritual hunger it takes to put Christ first in their families.

Prayer Points

Pray for hundreds of Nyungwes to become Christ’s ambassadors to those without a gospel witness.
Pray for Nyungwes to have a strong faith in Jesus Christ.
Pray for God to bless the Nyungwes in such a way that they will give him praise and honor.
