Introduction / History

In the 1980s, some Japanese Brazilians chose to return to work and live in Japan as foreign migrant workers. They are found in Brazil and in Japan's major cities.

What Are Their Lives Like?

Because their ancestors had almost forgotten their Japanese customs, they found it difficult to re-adapt to Japanese culture after returning to Japan.

What Are Their Beliefs?

Like their Japanese ancestors, they were originally Shinto. In Brazil, due to the influence of the Brazilian church, many people changed to Catholicism and took Catholic beliefs back to Japan.

What Are Their Needs?

Brazilian Japanese need the Holy Spirit to spur them on to love and good works.

Prayer Points

Pray for the Brazilian Japanese to take Christ to the Buddhists of Japan.
Pray for the Holy Spirit to move powerfully in Brazilian Japanese churches.
Pray for all their physical and spiritual needs to be met by the Lord of lords.
