Introduction

The Sakaldwipi Brahmin is a well-known community in Bihar and other parts of northern India. They have two subdivisions, Bhojak and Mag. In their villages, most Sakaldwipi own agricultural land tilled by landless laborers. Each Sakaldwipi family has its own deity and they worship ancestors. Their sacred specialists are from their own community. As priests and astrologers, the Sakaldwipi Brahmin have a patron-client relationship with other communities. Brahmins must be reached in a way that they understand. Brahmins need to learn about Christ one step at a time.

Ministry Obstacles

Sakaldwipi Brahmins know that becoming a Christian will drastically lower their status. Only the spiritually hungry will even consider taking such a step.

Outreach Ideas

Pray for the Followers of Christ

Pray for the Entire People Group

Pray for a movement to Christ among the Sakaldwipi Brahmin that will affect other Brahmin subgroups.
Pray that Sakaldwipi Brahmin believers will learn to walk in humility with their savior and Lord.
Pray they will understand their need for forgiveness of sin, and for power to live this life well. Both are found in the person and work of Jesus Christ.
Pray for the Lord to thrust out the right workers to the Sakaldwipi Brahmin community.
