Introduction / History

The Okak Fang people of Equatorial Guinea are part of the Beti-Fang continuum of Bantu languages, related to the Ewondo and Bulu of Cameroon. There are some significant numbers also in Cameroon and in Gabon. Their traditional territory is the interior rainforest.

What Are Their Lives Like?

They are known as the jungle fighters. Their knowledge of the jungle and their ability to survive and function in the lush tropical vegetation is legendary.

What Are Their Beliefs?

As a result of Spanish colonization, the large majority of Okak Fang people are nominally Roman Catholic. But few have personally accepted the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

What Are Their Needs?

The Okak Fangs need a greater spiritual hunger. As it stands, many are settling for spiritual truths that conflict with those given by the only Savior.

Prayer Items

Pray for spiritual hunger among Okak Fang elders and family leaders that will affect every family.
Pray for strong devotion to Jesus Christ that will lead to discipleship.
Pray for them to see God s blessings and to be thankful.
